Teaching Pilates for thirteen years. Founder of the first dedicated group Reformer studio in the Algarve.
Victoria Barton opened the first dedicated group Reformer studio in the Algarve because she believed, and still believes, that Pilates works best in a small room with real attention.
Victoria has been teaching Pilates for thirteen years. Eight of those running this studio. She holds a Polestar Pilates Diploma, a qualification grounded in rehabilitation science, not fitness trends.
She found Pilates in her early career and kept coming back to it because it was the one thing that actually made a difference. Not a quick fix, a proper, gradual shift in how her body moved and felt. That's what she tries to give every person who walks into the studio.
Before Pilates, she spent twelve years in tech, managing websites and digital projects for large law firms and insurance companies in London and Sydney. She knows first-hand how the years of a busy working life add up in the body, and how much of that can be undone with the right kind of movement. She teaches with that understanding.
She opened the studio in Almancil because the Algarve didn't have one. Not a dedicated space. There were gym Reformers, travel Reformers in yoga studios, hotel fitness rooms. Not a proper studio with small groups and someone in the room who actually cares what you're doing. So she built one, the first dedicated group Reformer Pilates studio in the Algarve.
See the classes →Trained and practising since before group Reformer was common in Portugal. She's seen fashions come and go and kept her focus on what actually works.
She opened the first dedicated group Reformer Pilates studio in the Algarve. Still the only one of its kind in the area.
Victoria holds a Polestar Pilates Diploma, one of the most respected and rigorous Pilates qualifications in the world, grounded in rehabilitation science and movement principles.
London and Sydney. Large organisations, digital projects, long hours. She knows how a working life adds up in the body, and brings that lived understanding to everyone she teaches.
Victoria's teaching style is direct. She explains why something matters, not just how to do it. She watches carefully and corrects early, before bad patterns set in.
She's not interested in making classes look harder than they are, or easier. She's interested in making them work. Which means different things for different people, and she adjusts accordingly.
Victoria leads the teaching at the studio, supported by a small team of qualified instructors who share the same approach: small classes, careful coaching, and no shortcuts.
She also runs private 1:1 sessions for clients who want something more tailored, beginners who want to learn properly before joining a group, or clients working towards specific goals.
